CRONI-CIP

Action

Hormones that manage estrous cycle and reproduction in cattle, horses, sheep, goats, swine and canines.

Composition

Estradiol cypionate, 50 mg; excipients, q.s.f 100 mL

Indications

Ovulation synchronization protocols in ixed-time artiicial insemination (FTAI) and reproduction programs.

For the treatment of: Anestrous, persistent corpus luteum, metritis, pyometra, placenta retention and mummiied bovine fetuses.

Anestrous in sheep, goats, swine and estrous syncronization in goats.

Urinary incontinence in spayed female canines, anestrous, pseudopregnancy, benign prostatic hyperplasia and as an adjuvant in the treatment of anal adenomas in canines.

Potentiates intrauterine defense mecanisms and estrous induction in horses.

Dosage and route of administration

Cattle

  • Treatment of anestrous: 3 - 5 mg (6 -10 mL).
  • Persistent corpus luteum: 4 mg (8 mL).
  • Metritis, pyometra, placenta retention and mummiied fetuses: 10 mg (20 mL).
  • Estrous synchronization: 0,5 - 1 mg (1-2 mL)
  • Fixed-time artiicial insemination (FTAI) protocols in cattle:
    • Protocol N° 1:
      • Day 0: place intravaginal device with progesterone (CRONIPRES®) and administer 2 mg of estradiol benzoate (BIOESTROGEN®).
      • Day 7: remove intravaginal device with progesterone (CRONIPRES®) and administer 0,150 g of D-cloprostenol (Enzaprost DC) and 0,5 to 1 mg of Croni-Cip.
      • Day 9: 48 to 56 hours after removing intravaginal device with progesterone perform FTAI.
    • Protocol N° 2:
      • Day 0: place intravaginal device with progesterone (CRONIPRES®) and administer 2 mg of estradiol benzoate (BIOESTROGEN®).
      • Day 8: remove intravaginal device with progesterone (CRONIPRES®) and administer 0,150 g of D-cloprostenol (Enzaprost DC) and 0,5 to 1 mg of Croni-Cip.
      • Day 10: 48 to 56 hours after removing intravaginal device with progesterone perform FTAI.
      • It is recommended that cows in anestrous receive 400 IU of equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) (ECEGON®) when removing the intravaginal device with progesterone (day 7 or 8, respectively).

Horses

  • Estrous induction during anovulatory phase: 10 mg (20 mL).
  • Estrous induction during reproduction phase: 1 mg (2 mL).
  • To potentiate intrauterine mechanisms of defence: 1-2 mg (2-4 mL) for 3 to 5 days.

Sheep, Goats and Swine

  • Treatment of anestrous in goats: 0,5-1 mg (1 to 2 mL).
  • Estrous synchronization in goats: 1 mg (2 mL).
  • Estrous synchronization protocol in goats:
    • Day 0: place intravaginal device with progesterone and administer 1 mg of Croni-Cip and 5 mg of prostaglandin F2.
    • Day 4: apply 250 IU of equine chorionic gonadotropin (eCG) (ECEGON®).
    • Day 5: remove intravaginal device with progesterone.
    • Day 6: 24 hours after removing intravaginal device with progesterone administer 1 mg of Croni-Cip.
  • Goats remain in estrous from the removal of the intravaginal device with progesterone until 48 hours later.

Canines

  • Treatment of anestrous, urinary incontinence, pseudopregnancy, benign prostatic hyperplasia and as an adjuvant in the treatment of anal adenomas: 0,5 - 1 mg (0,02 - 0,04 mg/Kg or 0,04 - 0,08 mL/Kg).
  • Do not exceed a total of 1 mg.

Route of administration for all species is exclusively intramuscular.

Withdrawal period
